Bench and Tree Plaque

Would you like to adopt a bench or tree in Van Vorst Park, in memoriam, or for someone currently in your life? It’s easy!

I have received permission from the Jersey City Council to have plaques, with a dedication, affixed to the park benches or trees in Van Vorst Park.

The plaque will be made of stainless steel, etched in black lettering and coated for outdoor use with a variety of fonts available. I will be using the same source and material as Central Park in Manhattan, except they charge $10,000 for each plaque. At that price, they already have over 4,223 benches dedicated…we’re a bargain at $850, 100% of net proceeds go towards the maintenance and improvement of Van Vorst Park.

In your favorite area of the Park, select two benches that you particularly like (I suggest you choose more than one in case your first choice is not available). If you would like more help selecting your bench, let us know—we would be happy to assist.

Multiple donors may contribute to the same bench through honorary or memorial funds. Full payment must be received before you can reserve a bench. Bench adoptions are fully tax-deductible, and payment may be made by check or credit card. When you adopt a bench, you choose the inscription for a plaque. Once approved, it takes approximately six to eight weeks for the plaque to be produced and installed.

If you would like to participate in this program, please download the word document located under this post. Edit the document with your information, and send it to friendsofvanvorstpark@gmail.com.

The Friends of Van Vorst Park reserves the right to temporarily or permanently alter or relocate benches under certain circumstances. In such cases, the FVVP will make all reasonable efforts to consult with the donor, family members, or personal representatives prior to any such relocation or alteration.

The Friends of Van Vorst Park, Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit established in 1993 and your donation is deductible to the extent of Federal law.
